Saint John Area Markets

Last week I posted a list of 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly businesses in Saint John, New Brunswick. I had compiled the list as part of a project I’m working on. Continuing on with that project, I’ve put together a list of markets worth checking out in Greater Saint John.

If there’s another market you think should be added to the list, please reach out and let me know about it, and tell me what makes it great. I’m particularly interested in identifying other markets less than 50 minutes away from Browns Flat. (I’ll explain why later!)

Brundage Point Market | May to September
4 Ferry Road, Grand Bay-Westfield

Located at the Brundage Point River Centre, this weekly market operates seasonally from May to September on Thursday afternoons. For more information call 506-763-2912 or e-mail picklelady@nb.sympatico.ca.

Queen Square Farmers Market
| May to October
Queen Square, Saint John

This pop-up market runs Sundays 9 am to 2 pm rain or shine from Mother’s Day until Thanksgiving. For more information, e-mail queensquarefm@gmail.com

Saint John City Market | Open Year-Round
47 Charlotte St, Saint John

Open daily from 7:30 am, with guaranteed vendor hours from 10 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturdays.

First opened in 1876, the City Market has withstood the test of time – from The Great Fire of 1877 which devoured the city around it only a year after it opened, to the twentieth-century urban renewal that built a brand new city. A full city block in length, the Market runs downhill from the “head of the Market” on Charlotte Street, gently sloping to the Germain Street entrance, a full 10 feet below. For more information, call 506-658-2820 or e-mail city.market@saintjohn.ca.

Kingston Farmer’s Market | May to October
4 Market Lane, Kingston

This market has become famous over the years for its breakfasts and is a favourite meeting place for area residents and tourists alike. Enjoy a coffee as you browse and chat with local vendors, both inside the market building or outside in the courtyard, under the canopy, all while enjoying live entertainment by local musicians. For more information, call 506-763-3490 or e-mail manager@kingstonfarmersmarket.ca

Kredl’s Corner Market | Open Year-Round
1171 Main Street, Hampton

Working with more than 150 local farmers and vendors to bring the best of fresh and local food. The cookhouse features in-house and locally-sourced items. A garden centre stocked with a variety of plants and supplies. A delicious assortment of locally made ice-cream flavours. The Kredls’ bakers stock the shelves with the freshest breads and sweets every day. Open 7 days a week. For more information, call 506-832-7568 or e-mail info@kredls.com

Belding Hill Farms Outdoor European Style Christmas Market
404 Ravine Road, Hampton

Visit 50 booths with vendors, artists, craftspeople, food and beer, spirits and mulled wine. Mr. and Mrs. Claus are available for photos and the vendor village is lit overhead with string lights, along with a large Christmas tree. For information, call 506-607-9721 or e-mail beldinghillfarms@gmail.com.

Feel free to share this list!

I’m Daniel Mark.

Welcome to my blog.

This blog breaks rules. It doesn’t focus on just one theme and I don’t post to it on a consistent schedule. That’s OK. It’s my blog. Not yours.

But you’re here! If you think you can piece together what it all means, I’d be curious to know your conclusions.
